Course Description

Whether it is searching for a movie listing, looking for reliable health information, or staying in touch with friends and family members, computer skills are a necessity in today’s world. During this hands-on 12-session course, students will be using free tools to gain vital technology skills including navigating the internet, creating and using an email account, creating and saving documents, using social media tools including Instagram and Facebook, uploading and editing photos, and more. The course will also show students how to locate the information that they need online and how to evaluate the information to determine its relevance, accuracy, and reliability. 

Important note: Students must bring a working cell phone to class. We will be using the phone for two-step authentication as well as apps. Please come prepared with your Google account information for Android phones, and your Apple ID and password for iPhones. Students should also bring a pen or pencil, pocket folder, and a notebook to class.
