Course Description

Construction project managers need to be able to read construction drawings and plans accurately. This course covers plans, specifications, and construction/working drawings, with topics including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, symbols, schedules, specifications, and abbreviations used in architectural and engineering drawings. By the end of the course, students will be able to read, analyze, and apply the full range of documents used throughout the design and construction process, including drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and other project-related materials. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of construction documents. In addition, students will develop skills in specifications analysis.
