Course Description

Advanced plumbing system design. Develop a working knowledge of advanced plumbing and drainage systems including highrise building and industrial installations. Discuss the use of specialized plumbing and mechanical systems as they apply to unique hazards including chemical, industrial and institutional occupancies. Study the role of the plumbing inspector as it relates to the enforcement of the Energy Subcode and Barrier-Free Subcode.

The N.J. Uniform Construction Code requires candidates for licensure to complete specified educational programs. Licensing is based on a combination of education, experience and testing.

Call the Department of Community Affairs at 609-984-7834 for information on specific licensing requirements. Students must follow established prerequisites. A portion of student tuition may be refunded (subject to availability of State funding) provided students adhere to NJ state guidelines.

Courses must be taken in their proper sequence (ICS-HHS), and students must have at least 7 years’ work experience under a master plumber.

Note: Courses designated as ONLINE are Remote Live Courses that are instructor-led and held on the scheduled class days and times using a secure online platform, i.e. Zoom or Canvas. Students will need a computer, laptop, tablet, etc., that includes a camera and a microphone and access to the internet
